Wow new features in Photoshop 27.0 are impressive The Harmonize tool for seamless blending, Generative Upscale, and the integration with Firefly for animation really expand creative possibilities. I also love how Adobe Express templates and partner models like Nano Banana and Flux Kontext Pro make workflows faster and more flexible. It’s great to see Adobe focusing on improving both desktop and web versions, allowing users to work efficiently across devices. I am especially excited to try out the Generative Fill and explore the enhanced color and selection tools.

That’s exciting! Can’t wait to see what new tools and AI updates they’ve rolled out this time. Photoshop just keeps pushing creative boundaries every year.

The new update looks genuinely game-changing. Harmonize and Generative Upscale are the kind of tools that feel like a real leap forward rather than just nice add-ons. I love how Adobe is blending creativity with practicality — being able to animate straight from Photoshop to Firefly or pull Express templates directly into a project is going to save so much time.
It’s also great to see deeper integration with partner models like Flux Kontext Pro; that opens up serious creative range for professionals who rely on nuanced outputs. Can’t wait to test how these tools perform in real workflows — especially the improved color adjustments and selection tools.
Big props to the Adobe team for making AI feel like an actual creative partner instead of just a gimmick. 👏

I've been waiting for the Sneaks. Trace Erase is a souped up version of the Remove Tool that they absolutely need to keep working on and bring to Photoshop. It hasn't been published to YouTube yet, but I'll keep looking and link to it when available. Or you can go find the whole session on the MAX page. Adobe MAX 2025 - The Creativity Conference

If I understood it correctly, they announced at MAX that Firefly will be charging no credits till 1st December. I am assuming that includeds Premium Credits, because it makes no sense if it doesn't. I'm also assuming that it includeds using the Firefly engine, and partner models, directly inside Phoptoshop. I guess the smart thing to do would be to test it.

I'm testing now, and it looks like only the Firefly video model uses no credits.
The Firefly Video model says zero credits, and none were used.
Pika2.2 said 250 credits (five seconds at 1080P) and they definiotely came off my total.
Pika 2.2 did a way better job than the Firefly Video model.

How about we list any really cool tips and tricks we got from MAX this year. Maybe also mention favourite sessions. I'll start.
Julianne Kost has a nice session on composites that is not really saying much that is new, but the biggest thing I got from her session is that Generative Fill layers are basically Smart Objects. They are containers with the three alternatives within. So right click the Smart Object and choose Convert to Layers and the Smart Object becomes a new group containing the three Generative Fill layers. Up till now, I have been performing awkward, and over long, steps to keep all three alternatives from Generative Fill. Julianne's session is still worth watching, but the regulars here are not going to get much more out of it.
By far my favourite session was from Mark Heaps. (I think he might be @sharp_hands16B8 so me will maybe respond to to this tag). Mark's session is entitled 'Work Happy not Harder with AiDriven Workflows in PS S6305' A lot of it is some deep dives into the Generative Fill models and I am feeling a lot more informed now. He also had soe killer tips like how to fix crazy over the top neon colours in a photograph.
How would you fix the portrait on the left, and what if it was worse than this with multiple coloured lights?
Mark used Nueral Filter > Colorize, which he says might more acurately be called 'Normalize'. I doubt I would have ever thought to try that.
Another session I enjoyed is Martina Flor's See Like a Lettering Designer Build Better Typography
I just noticed some more that have been added since I last looked through the list, like Mark Rober's, so I watch that later this evening.

This update is a creative powerhouse! The new Harmonize and Generative Upscale tools look like real workflow boosters, and the Firefly animation feature opens up exciting new possibilities for motion design. It’s inspiring to see how Adobe continues to innovate while listening to the needs of artists and designers. Kudos to the whole Photoshop team for making version 27.0 such a solid, future-ready release

This update looks really impressive. The new Harmonize feature sounds like a real time-saver for people who work with complex compositions or travel photos that need consistent color tones across different lighting conditions.
I am especially interested in how Generative Upscale performs on real-world images, like night city shots or photos taken in low light. Has anyone tested how well it keeps the natural sharpness of original textures?
The integration with Firefly also seems like a big step forward for motion design workflows. Excited to experiment with some travel-based edits using these new tools. Great work from the Adobe team!

The focus on AI feels like hype over substance. Yes, it’s impressive, but the core tools are becoming outdated and in some cases worse. Performance and stability should come first... Photoshop still crashes and freezes on high‑end hardware, color management is hell, UI workflow needs a lot of improvement, for example: workspace management has gone backwards. We used to be able to sync workspaces and tools across devices, now that’s gone, and the current system is clunky at best. The UI needs attention, workflows are fragmented (neural filters, camera raw, blur galleries, artboards, etc.), and the fundamentals aren’t improving, better cross integration between other apps, CC library doesn't cut it.. is slow and still lacks integration, want me to save my files on the cloud? then give me real tools to sync locally and manage my files and additional assets. Projects seems like a step forward, but is just a mild attempt (why has to be inside photoshop, and the CC app it's terrible btw) at the end, it seems to be more focused on integrate Adobe Express to the mix...
AI should support the creative workflow, not replace it. Professionals need performance, non‑destructive tools, and better integration, not just “magic” tools and another price increase.
Focus on the fundamentals. Leave the hype behind.

You’ve made some very solid points here. I agree that while AI features are exciting, core performance and workflow stability should always come first. A balanced approach where AI enhances, not replaces, the creative process would definitely serve professionals better in the long run. Hopefully Adobe takes more feedback like this seriously.
