Photoshop Not Able To Open ANY Image.

I cannot open any image type (.psd, .png,.jpg etc), and when I open it, the menu does not open. Whenever I try to open any image file, it just never loads. PLEASE HELP!

PC Specs (Laptop, but good)

AMD A8 Processor at 2.4 Ghz

All my drivers are updated and Photoshop used to work yesterday, it doesn't work now!

Sign out from creative cloud,

restart your laptop

sign-in back again

Reset photoshop preferences:

Double click on photoshop icon then press ctrl + alt + shift while  photoshop is running

If nothing works, try to reinstall a fresh copy from creative cloud.

In addition to Mohammad.Harb's excellent advice, try uninstalling Photoshop CC2017 (using the drop down in the Creative Cloud app), then run Adobe Cleaner -  Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems before reinstalling Photoshop.

if that doesn't work (or any of the other suggestions), revert to CC2015 until an upgrade to CC2017 is available.

I can't find the Prev Versions on my cc software. When I updated to 2017, it removed the previous versions.

If you have a valid serial # you can go to prodesigntools.com and download the installer, going back to 2014 if desired. They're not a pirate site, they are a valid, Adobe approved site. In fact the links to the software on their site come from adobe.com. Just download the installer and re-install using your serial number.

Before doing anything drastic, I would suggest resetting your preferences and rebooting the computer. You can do that from your preferences dialog as in the diagram below.

1) You have removed Photoshop and run the Cleaner Tool

2) Reinstalled Photoshop CC2017

3) Reset Preferences

and your still unable to open any image type? What version of Windows are you using? How much memory does your laptop have? When you attempt to open an image does anything happen at all, even a screen flash? One thing that comes to mind is an Esc key stuck in the down position. If that happens when you attempt to open the file menu the screen will just flicker.

Ok the memory I have if you're talking about RAM, is 8 GB and about 7 GB usable. And I 100% know that my Esc key is not stuck because I have tried going in the file menu. Nothing is working.

I think the best thing to do is contact Adobe support. They can remote control your computer which is something we cannot do here. Use the link below and go to the 'chat' option . The technician can then remote desktop to your machine and make an analysis. I think they may only be available on weekdays though.

Sometimes having access to the machine is the only way. There's a limit what text support like this can do as we rely on an accurate description from you as to what you are seeing. Some people are more technical than others and that can make all the difference so sometimes a technician looking at the machine as it operates is the only way forward.

It does make you wonder sometimes how many forum problems are down to hacked copies of the software? I've seen the Painter crack in operation on a machine belonging to someone who should know better and because it blocks communication with Adobe servers it also interferes with the dialog the library panel has with the server as well, resulting in excessive lagging on startup. I can understand pirating $1000 software but when you can get it for $10 a month now it is plain greed and meanness to pirate.
