Photoshop not default .psd opener..

How is Photoshop not default for psds? Its annoying having to go through this every time... & no.. checking that button doesn't make it default I even tried going into windows default app settings & setting it there with no luck.

    If you uninstall PS and reinstall it does it kick in as the default then?

    I've had to do that with other apps.
