Photoshop pixel scaling

Community Beginner ,
Jan 27, 2020 Jan 27, 2020

I was trying to rezise a pixelated image using free transform, and as I was making it bigger it stayed pixelated, but when mounted it got blurry.

How are you supposed to do it, so the image stays pixelated?

Thanks

You could use Image > Image Size and set Resample to »Nearest Neighbor«.

I already set it to nearest neighbor, problem being that it scales both my layers if I scale it there

Maybe you could scale it that way in a separate file, then copy/paste the layer to the document where you want it.

For destructive transformations one can set the interpolation method in the Options Bar?

I just found the problem I was dealing with.
It being that interpolation wasn't an option when the object was a smart object

In that case the method that is set under Photoshop > Preferences > Image Interpolation is used, as far as I know.

And are you using a non-english installation of Photoshop?

Because I suspect that by »Reshape Freely« you mean »Free Transform«.
