Photoshop Presets: a question about my user library folder?

19,1 iMac, Monterey 12.1, Photoshop 2022:

There are 3 preset folders: '22, '21, '20. All of my saved and arranged presets are in the 2020 folder. Why isn't there one preset folder? Will Photoshop always know to save the 2020 presets? The other two folders are blank.

Am I correct from the links, that I must manually save all Presets that are in the 2020 preset folder for Photoshop to recognize them as 2022 presets officially? I'm concerned that down the road in a future Photoshop version, the future Photoshop will not remember the 2020 presets? It only seems to need the older folder to use them in 2022.

or does the latest Photoshop automatically create a "Clone" of the older presets?

Presets are stored for each version, there isn't a central repository.

I can't say why your presets are in the 2020 folder,  unless you never saved any presets in version 2021 or 2022.

Keep in mind that there are application and user level presets, so you may need to check both:

/Applications/Adobe Photoshop CC 2020/Presets⁩/

/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CC 2020/Presets⁩/

For actions, more info on the preset locations here:
