Hello:
I am a scripting novice, and I am looking to hire someone to write a simple script for me in Photoshop that I can then share with others to automate some workflow.
Most of the other workflow automation can be done with Actions. I understand that Actions are the training wheels of scripting and some things cannot be done with actions.
I would like to hire someone as a freelancer to solve this specific problem.
Thanks
JIm

I believe the are freelancers you can find using a google search. If you are trying to learn some scripting you can ask for help here with your problems. Some user that participate here know some things about scripting Photoshop. Programming fees can be high. Advice here is free.

Jim, whether you hire a contractor, or receive forum help, you will need to define the requirements/specifications and the developer will then scope the project. You will need to communicate exactly what you want and they will confirm what they will deliver. The last thing you want is unforeseen additional charges by adding in new feature requests in the middle of the project, so it really pays to plan things out first. This could be as simple as creating an action and noting where the action has limitations and what you would like the script to do to get past these roadblocks.

Its simple. You must have an exact goal. That goal must be feasible not impossible to automate. You can not start designing a process till you know its possible and what must be done. If it unknown your have a research project that may not be possible. You need deep pockets to fund one of those. You need to know what you want automated and that it can be automated with Photoshop.
