Photoshop Upgrade: Art boards won’t adjust to new size and fit to size anymore?

Hi there. I just upgraded the newest version of photoshop as well as the bug fix, and the art board don't seem to work the way they used to. I was able to adjust the size of existing art boards to any size I want and the content already in it would fill the space accordingly and I could move it to then new space. Now it's not doing that. There's an outline box where the new size is, but I can't seem to add content there. It just disappears. I have attached a photo  for reference as well, where you will see the gap and how nothing is changing . Is there a new way to fix this? I'm using artboards all the time for paid media ads for my job, and I would do this seamlessly on the daily!

We can't see your layers in your screenshot so it's really hard to understand what's going on. Can you post a link to a PSD file, and then provide the exact steps (which layers/artboards you have selected, etc) and what properties you are changing or or adding. A PSD along with a video/screen recording of your steps would be most useful. You can use QuickTime to record your screen. File > New Screen Recording. Record your entire screen so we can see all the Photoshop interface including the layers panel.

Hello, please give more details about your setup, are you on a M1 Mac? which Operating system and dot version? Which exact Photoshop version? How are you scaling the artboard?

Sure. I am on a Mac. I'm using the latest photoshop version 22.5.1

So usually in the past, I would take an older size that I wanted to leverage, and convert the entire group into layers for art boards, and then adjust it to the size I want. I was then able to adjust the entire layout to that designated size. I now am not able to do it. It won't let me expand that Artboard canvas. So even if I changed the size, it's still reading it as the prior size. And before, if you moved things out of the artboard, you were still able to see them outside of the canvas. Now they just disappear. It's basically acting like the file is not reading as an artboard file, but just a regular file, but showing me that the art board is there. So I'm not sure if the settings changed or configured with the update.

I came across this thread from 2018 which is along the same lines as what you are describing:https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-discussions/painting-beyond-canvas/td-p/10163835

It looks like using the area outside of the workspace/artboard has been gone for a few versions now.

Hi there - are you using the properties panel to adjust the artboard size?

Hi there. Yes I am using that panel to scale the art board! I am doing it how I always did it, but for some reason the content does not adjust to that size anymore like I used to. Everything disappears, if I try to adjust it to the new area. It's like it's outside of the canvas when it's not.
