Question

Photoshop v24. Neural filters on working

Is there a fault on the latest Photoshop (version 24) in the 'Neural Filters'. Most of the ones I to try to use, show a message at the top saying that it has been temporarily disabled due to a fault. Is this a Photoshop fault or a fault of mine?

Thanks for the tip there Jeffrey, I also am struggling to get the Neural Filter/Photo Restoration to work properly. I downloaded the "new" version after updating to V24.

The filter worked once, and worked very well, since then I cannot seem to get it to update past the Beta version again.

I followed your suggestion to delete the Windows: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\UXP\
PluginsStorage\PHSP\22\Internal\com.adobe.nfp.gallery\PluginData folder.

(My 22 and 23 folders were empty, I deleted the 24 instead).

After doing that, restarting and downloading the neural filters agin I still only have the Beta version.

Any further tips would be much appreciated.

Try this:

Download the filter models again
1. Quit Photoshop, delete or rename the following folder, Start Photoshop and try again:

  • Windows: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\UXP\
    PluginsStorage\PHSP\22\Internal\com.adobe.nfp.gallery\PluginData
  • Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/UXP/PluginsStorage/
    PHSP/22/Internal/com.adobe.nfp.gallery/PluginData

@Lacanilladigital You should create your own thread for a separate issue - and provide more details.

Two quick things to try:

If you restore your preferences using this manual method does it work correctly?

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#Manually

If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back.

If restoring prefs doesn't help, try this: Go to Preferences > Technology Previews... and enable "Older GPU mode (pre 2016)" - Restart Photoshop. Does the problem persist?

Please try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps described here:

Please backup your settings before resetting the preferences. You can check:
