I just updated my Photoshop (2024) and then I uninstalled Creative Cloud.
Then I tried to run Photoshop but it says Photoshop can't connect to Creative Cloud Desktop or something like that?...
I looked everywhere for information and it says that Photoshop should function normally on its own without Creative Cloud (this is only needed for installation), so...?
Does anyone know what this is about?
You can't use Photoshop without the Creative Cloud app. It won't work. Why did you uninstall it?

Because, as I mentioned, I found these types of answers:
Question:
Can I run Photoshop without Creative Cloud?
Answer: 1
Photoshop is installed in your computer 'locally' it can operate (while Activated) without internet access. You do not have to use the 'Cloud' for anything other than- Install and Activate.
Answer: 2
Yes, you can run Photoshop without Creative Cloud, although some features might not be available. For example, the Adobe Fonts feature requires the Creative Cloud subscription.
And there was more, answers like above but now I can't find them.
But... anyway if we can't, then it's "hard", but we'll have to live with it:)

The CC app performs functions that are normally baked into each single application. If you have several applications installed, which most people will have, it's all managed in one centralized place, instead of being spread out and the same things done in parallel. That's engineering economy.
If something is slowing your computer, this isn't it. It's very popular to blame the CC app for all kinds of problems, probably because it's a convenient target - but in reality, it's mostly inactive and not using any computer resources - until it's called. If you look in task manager there are many processes nominally running, but using zero CPU, zero GPU and perhaps a few kB of memory. It's just sitting there until needed.

I have had Photoshop without all of the Creative Cloud junk in the past. This should be possible. I am also looking for a download for only Adobe Photoshop. We are only given 16 GB of RAM, and CC eats of too much on the laptop, for a bunch of junk that I do not need. I'm sorry to be blunt, but Adobe has known for at least 7 years that some people do not want to have that much baggage cluttering up their PC.

@Ceana_Craig Don't really know what to say. Photoshop is a huge and complex piece of software, and the CC components are a tiny bit of it. I just looked in Task Manager, and the various CC components use a total of maybe 60 megabytes of memory, no disk, no CPU, no GPU. Most of the time, the CC app just sits there and doesn't do anything at all.
If you work for an organization that will only give you a laptop with 16 GB RAM, you need to talk to them and explain that this is not sufficient for the job. I had to do that back when I started, and it was no problem, they just asked me what I needed. This is professional software designed for heavy duty workloads, speed and efficiency. It is not designed for limited machine resources - for that they have Photoshop Elements or the newer web-based apps.

Sorry, but no. Photoshop should be available without Creative Cloud. It was in my last company. My boss contacted Adobe, and they provided a stand-alone download link.
Your company should not be dictating to mine how much RAM we should have, nor should they be forcing a ton of unnecessary and useless applications to be downloaded, simply to use one. I prefer SnagIt myself. Not the newer version either. Companies have gotten too high-handed about forcing things onto other companies that are not necessary.
I'm not downloading the entire Creative Cloud. If I can find any way around using your products, I will. I do not see RESPECT for the independent choices of companies coming from Adobe. I see Adobe DICTATING to other companies. I do not see interest in your customers and their needs. Just a cookie-cutter one-size-fits-all mentality.

I say unnecessary downloads, because with Creative Cloud, there are a ton of processes running in the background that do not run, when one has only Photoshop.

@Ceana_Craig Remember you are addressing volunteer users here which includes the community experts. We are not Adobe employees, although some employees do join and contribute to the threads.
'I'm not downloading the entire Creative Cloud.'
You don't need to - just the CC desktop app and Photoshop.
'...nor should they be forcing a ton of unnecessary and useless applications to be downloaded'
They don't. The CC app is an integral part of Photoshop and other CC applications. It handles the licensing checks etc However, as stated earlier in the thread it is not resource hungry, check the actual resources used in Task manager. Loaded in the background and using high resources are not the same thing.

The Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App is necessary to-
You should 'Sign In' and rarely/never need to 'Sign Out'.
The Desktop App occassionally (every 30days?) briefly connects with Adobe servers to confirm your subscription is current.
Once Activated (by Signing In to the Desktop App), Photoshop can be used 'locally' with local files and offline for a period of time. OFFLINE GRACE PERIOD

Adobe may end my whistleblower career after this (I am perfectly sane and dont want to harm myself or anyone) but Creative Cloud pulls ridiculous amounts of memory on both the CPU and GPU, its constantly running in the background all the time and if it had any other name the computer would recognize it as a malicious program. Something has to be done this is just asinine, all these ridiculous data mining account platforms and subscriptions, why do I need to make an account to run a lamp in my home or to edit a picture???

You are 100% correct. That is why I call it junk. It is a ton of junk on the PC just to use a single app. Adobe already has another application running on the PC to assure that the licenses are and stay valid. That excuse is untrue. They also CONSTANTLY run a collaborator, which I neither need nor want. We have our own repository and back-up. We do not want our company secrets being accessed or stored in Adobe's cloud, nor do we want any potential point, where someone can access any of our company's information. We do not work on multiple devices. We have our own collaboration tools.
If it were my decision, I would not use any Adobe products, for the very reason that they force things on you that you do not need and that you do not want. You pay; they force.

Please do not spread misinformation here. Adobe's terms of use are very clear and they do not access files on your PC. Section 2.2. here refers:

@Xacobeo4 Adobe Creative Cloud is the name for the software package and yes an internet connection is required to download, install and activate your subscriptions. The Creative Cloud desktop app manages all these applications.

Adobe needs to release a version where all of the things that it needs creative cloud for are on the main Photoshop app so you can delete creative cloud immediately. It also needs to set it up so that once you have paid your first annual subscription you never have to pay any subscription fees ever again. Basically once you pay for it one time that's the only time you ever pay for it. When when I had Photoshop 5.5 you bought it once and that was it you had it and that's it. Any version of Photoshop that requires a subscription is a virus and needs to be immediately deleted and replaced with one that you can only purchase one time and only have to pay for one time and that's it. Such software must not ever be designed to require the use of the internet. It can only use the internet for the first initial download and that's it after which it never needs the internet ever again. This needs to be absolutely built into every version of Photoshop, that once you have paid for it a single time you never have to pay for it again and it never has to go online ever again.

Unfortunately that most likely will not happen given the success of Creative Cloud subscriptions.
If you don't want a subscription or connection to the internet to validate, you should look into the Photoshop Elements 2024. I suggest 2024 as the new Elements/2025 releases are now a 3-year subscription as well.
