Hi,

Turned on pixel grid, I am working over a large white background, I cant see the grid.
edit prefs has no setting for pixel grid.
Surely one can alter its colour to suit the image ?

Yes, but you will need to turn off the Pixel Grid, it can't be customized. You have to go into Photoshop Preferences > Guides Grids & Slices and set up a Custom Grid like this:
View menu > Grid to show and hide it. It's messy because you will see it at any zoom level, but it's the only way for now unless there is a third-party plugin.

Not with CS6, Gene. There are no controls in CS6 for changing the grid color.

We learn everyday, Chuck. Someone asked how to use the Crop Tool freeform and it turns out clicking the "Clear" button in the Option bar clears the ratio fields so you can do just that.
