I've just downloaded the new version of Photoshop, now when I place an image it is showing up double, but not as another layer? Any help is appreciated, thanks 🙂
Other people with similar problems have reported that unchecking "Legacy Compositing" in the Preferences fixes it for them.

Yes I'm having the same problem and posted about it yesterday. Others also posted the same problem. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a fix for this yet. Very frustrating.

Thanks Rafael ! This was a bug that was causing me headaches, not only would it double place images but it was also effecting masking. I could paint on the mask, but the effects wouldn't be shown unless the photo was turned on and off. The advice you gave was correct and it fixed both issues.
