Pressing modifier on Wacom tablet pen button brings up color picker, then move tool

Up until recently I had the button of my wacom tablet pen set to a modifer, ctl + opt, which would then allow me to increase/decrease brush size by moving the cursor out or in.

Recently, when I press this modifier, I can no longer change my brush size, and instead, the color picker tool is brought up. After I let go of the pen key, the color picker goes away, and instead I am left with the move tool turned on- all while the brush tool is still selected in my toolbar. When I hold control and option on my keyboard, I can adjust my brush size as before, and pressing this key combo on the keyboard also will reset my tool to brush after I am set to move after using the wacom tablet pen button.

When I first noticed the problem happening, maybe a week or 2 ago, I would also have a very strange problem using chrome: for whatever reason, every key on my keyboard would type alternative characters, from greek letters like delta to copyright symbols. This hasn't happened since about 2 weeks ago though.

What is going on? I can use the keyboard keys to change brush size but it is frustrating to lose this easier way of doing so, especially so suddenly and with no explanation.

Perhaps you had the bottom pen rocket button set to Alt+Right Click...

If you are using Windows you may also want to disable Windows Pen press and hold

I'm experiencing the same issue, and I'm also on a Mac. Were you able to resolve this problem?

I have exactly the same problem.  I can use Ctrl Option keys on my keyboard and dragging up/down, left/right will change the hardness and size however any atempt to set the rocker on the pen or an express key to Ctrl Option fails.  The colour picker appears and then I cannot get rid of the Move Tool without closing the active file in Photoshop.

I found a solution which others may find useful.

On my Mac in Systems Preferences/ Security and Privacy/Accessibilty I deleted all the permissions for Wacom.

I shut down and restarted my Mac.

I then added Wacom Tablet Utility, Wacom Display Settings and com.wacom.IOManager.app to the Accessibility permissions.

I then set one of my Express keys to Ctrl+Opt and the brush behaved perfectly.
