Print not scaling correctly

Hi, I'm opening the dialogue in file - print then selecting paper A3+ then going back, selecting paper profile etc. I'm making sure it's not set to scale to fit, but still a 36x26cm image is larger than my A3+ media ....🤔 Can anyone help please?

What is your resolution under image size?

So your image is 36 x 26 cm x 300 ppi and the preview shows it larger than A3 paper?

Have you tried resetting your print dialog box (hold the space bar when selecting File/Print)?

Is your image your image is 36 x 26 cm x 300 ppi - please insert a screenshot here - of the image/size dialogue box.

Check the size and resolution of your image to make sure it fits.  Then make sure you are printing a borderless print.

Check your print settings.

Your image is printing at 72 ppi not 300. Adjust the resolution.

Yes, try the "Page setup" and "main" tabs of the printer driver, to see if you can change the printing resolution.

72 PPI is an absurdly low print resolution, I wonder why the driver was preconfigured that way.

Thank you,  I'll try that in the morning but surely that'll make the image even bigger at 300 dpi? I don't know why it's set at 72. This is the first time I've used my printer since the last PS update.

Hi au contraire, if you print a 1 inch image, 300ppi at 72 ppi (*),  it'll print approximately  4 times as big as intended, with 4 times as few resolution. If you print it at 300ppi, it'll measure 1 inch.

It's a typo. I think he meant to type PPI (pixels per inch).

DPI (your term) is ink on paper and is controlled by the printing device.

People misuse the terms sometimes, but they are not the same thing.

This was a glitch, it was showing as per the SS yesterday. This morning on loading the file again and opening the Image size dialogue, it was way out, 72dpi and well off on the actual size. Whatever it was has righted itself now and thanks for your help everyone!
