Hi everyone. So out of nowhere I'm having problems with my eraser tool in photoshop. Whenever I try to use the eraser it doesn't erase in a smooth streamless fashion like you'd expect, and how it normally works. Instead it erases but it erases in consistent bursts of circle shapes. I've never seen this before and I even tried resetting the eraser settings, but it didn't work. I'll attach a picture so you can see what I'm talking about. Has anyone else experienced this problem and is there a fix for it? Thanks!

Look at the flow setting in the options bar and the brush spacing setting in Brushes - Brush tip shape

Please post a meaningful screenshot that includes the pertinent Panels (Options, Brush Settings, …).

What are the Brush’s Hardness, Spacing etc.?

If you're having trouble with the eraser tool in Photoshop, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check the opacity and flow settings: Make sure that the opacity and flow settings for the eraser tool are set to 100%. If the opacity and flow are set to lower values, the eraser tool may not erase as effectively.

Check the brush settings: Ensure that the brush settings for the eraser tool are set to a suitable size and hardness for your needs. If the brush is too small or too soft, it may not erase effectively.

Check the layer you're working on: Make sure that the layer you're trying to erase on is not locked or hidden. If the layer is locked or hidden, you won't be able to erase on it.

Check the blend mode: Ensure that the blend mode for the eraser tool is set to "Normal". If it's set to a different blend mode, it may affect the eraser tool's effectiveness.

Check your tablet settings: If you're using a tablet to control the eraser tool, check your tablet settings to ensure that the pressure sensitivity is working correctly.

Try resetting the eraser tool: In some cases, resetting the eraser tool to its default settings can resolve the issue. To do this, right-click on the eraser tool in the toolbar, select "Reset Tool", and try using the eraser tool again. For more information visit us
