PS 2019 and 2020 big issues with Wacom Cintiq 22HD

Hi there,

Since the last update I have a big issue between PS CC2020 and Cintiq 22HD.

I'm on mac os Mojave (10.14.6 ), wacom driver 6.3.38.3 (the latest) and PS21.0.2.

When I'm working on my tablet with the stylus and the mouse, I have randomly issues when I try to move an object on my artboard. It's like I click, move and never release. If I release the object drop but I can't do anything then, every other action are frozen. If I hit "escape", the object moved back where the pointer of my stylus / mouse was, and stays sticked to it. Sometime I can work 20 minutes without this starts to happening, sometimes it's directly when I start to work.

Also another issue, when I try to hide a layer, it doesn't work. I need to click twice. Same when I want to see it again. I need first to click on the "eye", nothing changes, then if I click on the layer name part, the action finally works.

I've called Wacom, they gave me solutions like, remove reinstall driver( be sure no elements are still hidden in some folders), add the wacom elements + PS in the "privacy security pannel". I'v also added PS in the stylus pannel. I've tried to work with PS 2019, same problems… I don't know what to do anymore and it's a nightmare to work like that.

I have exactly the same problem at home (same sofwares and devices) so it's not only a problem on my mac at work.

Wacom told me they don't have any new solutions to try and I should check with Adobe support.

Do I try to update to Kanalina? But I've seen so many people repporting isues also because of Katalina.

Could you help me please?

Thank you very much in advance.

Downgrading to 6.3.37.3 on my Intuos5 made it slightly more usefull again but still not perfect.

This is not ideal because I had some problems with the previous one also, but littles ones at least.

I'm gonna try if I have no solution.

Just confirming - when you say you "added wacom elements and PS in the privacy security panel" - did you

include both wacom drivers? Tablet and touch?

and did you make sure they are all checked?

Restarted your mac after adding them?

Yes to all of that. Sadly it didn't change anything except a problem that I had with the pen tilt.

Are you using the pen in mouse mode or pen mode in the Wacom system preferences?

I dont know if you solved the problem yet but I deleted Photoshop preferences and saw significant improvement.

Close Photoshop. Hold down Shift-Ctrl-Alt (PC) or Shift-cmd-option (Mac) and click the Photoshop icon (or double click if necessary) to start the application. Keep holding the 3 keys down.

I had all sorts of wierd errors, spinning beach ball (mac) for a second as soon as i tried to move a layer. Layers grabbed by move tool even though no mouse button was pressed. All gone.

Hope that works ...

I have Photoshop 2020 on an iMac running Catalina (the latest version). On my Wacum Cintiq 22 I have no problems with the express keys with Bridge or Lightroom, but Photoshop does not respond to the express keys. It does respond from the keyboard.

Hi there,

My configuration is the same as the one in the initial post. Problems are the same too.

It looks like PS is messing the things up because everything is working just fine between the Mac and my Wacom Intuos Pro till I start working in PS. Then problems start as explained in the first post... till the point my Macbook pro's trackpad doesn't work properly either. And I'm forced to restart my Mac.

I tried all the suggestions I found online and  here (delete Photoshop preferences, reinstall PS and Wacom,...), none of them worked for me.

Anyone with new idea to solve this problem? It's really difficult and time consuming to work like that.

Many thank in advance for your help.

Cheers

Hello, I've finally found something that works for me. I've downgrade wacom
driver to 6.3.37-3. BUT before that, I've cleaned everything related to
wacom (drivers, app, removed authorisations from security and
confidentiality window, Tablet Waco from preference system panel, and most
important hidden files there are a lot that you can't remove just manually,
they are still coming back after deleting them...) in my mac.
For that I've used 2 differents app (Free version works perfectly fine for
the job): app cleaner & uninstaller from Nektony and Funter from the same
brand. Check on them website how to use it. Then after few reboot, I've
reinstalled the specific version of the driver with Wacom desk center,
added the authorisations for adobe PS + wacom desktop center + wacom Tablet
driver + wacom touch driver in the security & confidentiality panel. Now it
finally works fine for me 🙂 no more bugs. But I'm afraid to make an update
in the future. I hope it can help.
