PS 2021/v22 - Pinch To Zoom on MacBook Pro Suddenly Slow When Using Clone Stamp

Just updated to PS 2021 and wish I hadn't.

I'm using a MacBook Pro 16" and I use the touch surface on a Magic Mouse to scroll around the image and the trackpad on the MacBook to pinch zoom in and out. This is all fine until I start using the Clone Stamp tool. As soon as I've used the tool a few times, when I pinch to zoom in and out on the image, the zoom is really laggy/jerky/unresponsive. Painful to use. This was smooth as anything in the version I was using right before this update. Switching to another tool, such as Marquee, zoom is lovely and smooth again but then back to laggy when I switch back to Clone Stamp.

Is it a known issue and is there a fix? (I tried changing all the GPU acceleration settings to no avail).

Can I roll back until there is a fix? (Guessing not).
