I updated Photoshop to 2020 & I cant see the thumbnails for psd files anymore on my Win 10 machine
If I recall correctly, it was the same problem with 2019 update & a workaround was given then to solve it. Can't locate that thread any more.
Anyone else facing this issue & how to fix it?

I have exactly the same issue, I am saving my PSD's as DDS and all I get is the default Ps Icon. I really need it to show the actual thumbnail. Is it something to do with PS2020 save preferences?

Hi, which version of Ps (check in help>system info)? if it is not 21.1.3, update in the CC app.
Which OS and version are you on? What are the settings of your explorer/finder in regards to icon size?
what do you mean by "I am saving my PSD's as DDS"

The display of thumbnails in Windows File Explorer (and in File> Open) are not set in Photoshop. They are set in Windows and need the appropriate codec for thumbnails to appear. This is not a Photoshop issue

George Costanza is starving and a guy walks in the room eating a donut and says, "They put donuts out" ...George: "They did?" guy: "sorry, last one." So what do you say... can you tell us the secret to getting the codec to make these thumbnails appear? Or did you get the last one? 😉
