"Enable Floating Document Window Docking" preference randomly unresponsive

After resetting preferences today and then unchecking "Enable Floating Document Window Docking" I'm still randomly (more often than not) getting the response as if it were checked.. the files open as a miniscule dot at the top left corner of the workspace.. and then again sometimes they open fine.. both responses occurring within seconds of each other with that preference checked off the entire time.

Let's make sure we're in a default state and there are no stale settings somewhere:

Does it work correctly?

If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back.

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

Ok, sorry to hear it is back @chad17509998t292. To refresh, the manual reinstall of prefs fixed it for a day or how long, then the issue returned when you...? The team will need a clear picture of when it worked and what your workflow was when it returned.

Hey Cory.. thanks for getting back to me..I should have updated the post.. The original problem I had was fixed by trashing the settings and the new issue is a little different but quite similar and probably isn’t a bug but I cant find the preference to change or get back to the way it performed before the Preferences Reset.. my issue now is the Photoshop window that is in the background.. when it is fully open (filling up my desktop) the files open at the correct size and zooming in and works correctly (Command -/+). However, when that background window is resized smaller the files are somehow constrained or mapped to the background and open up at a relatively smaller size and the handling with regard to zoom is as well. Of course I want to top bar but is there a way to eliminate the background so I can reference my desktop more easily without hiding photoshop or scaling the window manually?

Try Photoshop's Window menu and at the bottom of this menu uncheck "Application Frame".

This should show the Desktop.
