Hello, I have just returned to teaching Graphic Design after two years of teaching only Photography.
When I last taught Graphic Design we were using Photoshop 6.
Now we have CC and some brand new computers.
I am trying to get my students to use the shapes tool to create empty shapes.
However, on some of the computers, random fill and patterns appear as soon as we use the shapes tool!
Also, on one computer, the only shapes that appear are "flowers" and "birds".
How do I make this stuff go away? I have tried re-setting the workspace.
It is happening in both photography and web/graphics workspace.
thanks.

Hi, to load the other shapes, open the Shapes panel, from the Windows menu, and select "legacy shapes" in its local/top right menu. Are all the computers using the same Photoshop version?

Go to Preferences/Technology Preview and check "Deactivate Native Canvas". Then restart PS.

Looks like you are creating a vector shape and that the last person who used the computer (or perhaps it somehow got set) so that the stroke and fill are putting a stitched stroke and pattern fill. You can change these on the option bar that is on the top.

Please post screenshot of entire window not only part of it. It is important for us to see what are using from the Toolbar and settings applied to shape. It seems you are using one of the vector shape tools that have stroke settings applied.
Regarding "flowers" and "birds" - you are probably using Custom Shape Tool that can be changed to Rectangle, Ellipse.... https://www.photoshopessentials.com/basics/shapes/custom-shape-tool

Yes, thanks. I never would have figured out to go to the windows menu. You'd think that they would just put the legacy shapes in as a default, but no.
