Real Time Refinement grayed out

I have consistently upgraded through the recent versions of Photoshop including v25 and the Real-Time Refinement checkbox in the Select and Mask screen is still grayed out. Is there a setting in Preferences (or elsewhere) that I need to change?

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.
