Receiving "error displaying attachment content" when attempting to preview attachments to posts

After upgrading to Tahoe 26.2, Safari 26.2, Chrome 143.0.7499.147 and Firefox 146.0.1, I began receiving "error displaying attachment content" when attempting to preview attachments (e.g., PNG) to posts.

Any ideas, any other reports of this problem?

I appreciate all the great suggestions, but I'm surprised that in the years I've been haunting this Community, this sudden, recent stoppage is bewildering.

I will attempt to wait patiently for the new Community.

It bewilders us, too, @LAMY2017 . On another thread staff said it will be fixed when we move to the new forum software in January. I'm also waiting, but not patiently!

This is a known bug here.

Beginning next year there will be a change of the forum software. this will solved this issue.

As a workaround you can download the attachment using the button on the lower right corner of the window.

@AxelMatt "As a workaround, you can download the attachment"

I wouldn't recommend downloading attachments, who knows what they may contain.

I agree with Ged. I am not downloading the attachments either. Another "workaround" is to ask the users to use the Insert Image button.
