Recommended Video Cards for Photoshop

As some of you know I am in the process of gathering information so I can purchase a new computer. (My last post was very helpful in making up my mind on hard drives...I sincerely thank those who commented on that thread.) Video Cards are proving to be a real pain! Adobe in the past listed recommended video cards, but apparently they do not do that anymore, but if I am wrong please let me know. The local company that built my last 3 computers is wanting to put in a GeForce RTX 4060 WINDFORCE OC 8G
Graphics Card, but are there cheaper, as reliable, other options? Please note: I don't do this as a full time business, but I do love photography as it keeps my mind, and body active. (I just want to keep the price down if possible without sacrificing performance.) Another company wants to put in an Intel Arc B580, but is Intel as good as Nvidia in regards to Photoshop? Everything I read says Nvidia or AMD. Any comments are greatly appreciated!

Personally, I would stick with the well proven NVidia RTX series. The 4060 will work fine with Photoshop. Ask them to install the Studio drivers not the |Game Ready drivers and leave out the GeForce Experience add on - it is not required.

Agree with @davescm to stick with nVidia for the graphics card. Now, which one? Nobody knows where technology is headed or where it will be in 2 or 3 years. You want to buy a GPU for a longer period of time, don't you? I was against automated options, especially selections related, because they seemed ridiculous. Now I use them daily, often without any improvements. It was unthinkable for me 2 years ago. Yes, the 4060 should do the job well, and it's a decent card for you, I believe. I didn't do extensive research, but keep in mind that the base of all 4060s is the same, regardless of the company listed. You do not need three fans and shiny details that will just increase the cost of what is basically the same GPU in terms of normal use.

I'm a Mac user so no personal experience on the PC side. I do know that NVidia and AMD both just released new video card series this year. You can find reviews and benchmarks pretty easily.

As the others say. The 4060 is perfect for Photoshop. Performs extremely well at a reasonable price. You might want to see if its possible to stretch it to 12 GB VRAM, though.

The higher model numbers will be faster, but for Photoshop use it's not worth the rapidly increasing price.

Stay away from Intel GPUs. Yes, they make splendid CPUs, but their GPUs have never been up to the standards needed for serious advanced use.
