You are right! That is very strange!

What region/area do you live in? Have you tried removing and reinstalling Photoshop? Is this 26.10 that you installed?

Thanks!

I did a search in Google for "Is the UK version of Photoshop different than the US version" and found that the tools are the same, the language is somewhat different. Here is the text copied from Google:

___________________

For all practical purposes,
the UK and US versions of Photoshop are the same, with the main difference being the default language settings. The core features and tools are identical, and users can change their language settings at any time.
Primary difference: Language
When you install Photoshop, the most notable difference is in the language options, which are labeled:
  • English (North America): Uses American spellings (e.g., "color," "honor").
  • English (International): Uses UK spellings (e.g., "colour," "honour").
This primarily affects the user interface and dictionary, but does not change the program's functionality.
Regional pricing and licensing
While the software's functionality is the same, regional differences do exist in Adobe's pricing and licensing.
  • Pricing: The cost of a Creative Cloud subscription can vary by region due to local market conditions, taxes, and other factors.
  • Adobe ID: The country associated with your Adobe account determines the currency you are billed in.
  • Storage Region: Where your data is stored in the Adobe cloud is based on the country code of your account to ensure compliance with local data residency laws.
Can you change your language?
Yes, you can easily change the language of your Photoshop installation, regardless of where you bought your license.
  1. Open the Creative Cloud desktop app.
  2. Go to Preferences and then select Apps.
  3. Choose your desired language from the Default install languagedropdown menu.
  4. Reinstall Photoshop to apply the new language setting.

_______________________

Did you select English (International) when you installed the program? I am not sure if this is the issue or not, but I thought it was worth asking the question!

Let us know if this helps or if you are still having the same problem?

Michelle

Yes! I have auto update turned off on Photoshop. In the Creative Cloud app, click on your Account icon (profile icon) in the top right, and choose Preferences. Choose Apps from the menu on the left, and then click the Auto-update toggle to off. Then you can undate when you are ready, or when they have the bugs worked out.

From your Creative Cloud window you can then, if need be, re-install the last version of Photoshop that worked for you.
