Remove Text From Picture

hello

i have only just started to work with photo shop and i have a   skin texture for second life that has text words on it. I am wondering how i can remove the text from the template? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Can you switch it off / delete the text layer from the Layers panel?

If it is a stamp or artist name, this is telling you that you need to contact the artist or producer to get a license to use the image (removing the words could leave you in big trouble).

Thank you for your reply but it is an item created for me and only me. But the original creator thought I knew Photo shop better.
