Remove tool doesn't work, needs to download components

Hello, I have installed the latest version of PS but when I try to use the Remove tool, I receive the message "Required components are being downloaded. Check back later to use the feature once the download is complete.

It actually downloads nothing and every time I try to use this tool, the warning message appears.

any ideas how to fix this?

Hi @teokefalopoulos,

I understand how frustrating this can be, especially when you’re eager to use the Remove tool. To resolve this, please follow these steps:

1. Open the Creative Cloud Desktop app.

2. Navigate to Apps > All Apps and locate Photoshop.

3. Click on the three-dot menu (ellipses) next to Photoshop.

4. Select Get Add-ons.

5. Under Add-ons, find the components for the Remove tool and click Add to download them.

Once the components are installed, the tool should function as expected. Let us know if this helps or if you need further assistance!

Best,

I have done the suggestions listed, and I get a message that the components have been installed, but the error message is still there and will not let me use the remove tools. I have restarted several times.

Hi @PatriciaC in PA, have you tried manually resetting your Photoshop preferences?

https://helpx.adobe.com/ie/photoshop/using/preferences.html#Manually. If not, remember to back up your settings before doing the preference reset https://helpx.adobe.com/ie/photoshop/using/preset-migration.html

If the steps recommended didn’t help, we could use some more information to help you troubleshoot. Can you send your system info and a screen recording of your workflow? You can find your system info by going to Help > System Info, copying and pasting it into a text file, and attaching it here. Thanks! ^CH

Hello. My Creative Cloud shows that the Remove Tool add-on has been added, yet I still get this message. Do I need to just uninstall Photoshop and re-install?
