Trying to replace the log siding on an exterior shot of a home with a different siding. Client asked if there was a semi-automated way to do this, so I tried content aware fill several times and it did not work at all. Wondering if anyone has ideas on a good approach. Maybe I’m using content aware fill wrong or maybe there’s an entirely different approach that would work. We have several shots of this wall, though none match the house exterior exactly. Thanks in advance for any tips.
If you are using the second image as the new wall texture, did you try using it as the reference image with Gen Fill?
Hmmm. I tried that and it failed spectacularly.
So I think you are going to have to select each face, minus and doors and windows, and clip the new wall texture to it.
How much do you know? Are you OK with squaring thinggs up and getting perspective right?

Are you trying to use the second image to replace the existing wall texture?
Do you need to do this to every face?

Thanks so much for your help. I could handle it with the manual work. The client specifically said that someone had some automated method so I told them I was unaware of that but would mess around with the newer AI functions. But my efforts did not succeed. I can report this to them. I appreciate you taking the time to check it out.

Maybe I misunderstood you just now, let me try generative fill.

I think I've figured out how to do this as quickly as possible, not at all automated but the generative fill with my own reference image is definitely helpful. Thank you so much for your advice.

The advantage of using Gemini 2.5 Flas to do this is that you don't need to make a selection. I simply told it, 'Replace wood timber of this cabin wityh a darker textured wood'. I only got the one go because it is no longer free after 1st September, and while Firefly and Generative Fill now have the Gemini model as an option, you still need to make a selection. It is so much easier with a simple text prompt, so I am hoping that option is coming to the Adobe implimentation of Gemini and Nano Banana.
