Resize multiple layers without resizing canvas

Hi,

I'm kind of a n00b.  Sorry.

I'm making a greeting card design.  I have a canvas 290mm x 205mm and I have 35 images in separate layers to fill that area with a 7 x 5 grid of 42.6mm x 41mm images.  So far so good, except I miscalculated and I my images are a little too big.

Fine.  I selected all the layers and hit Ctrl+T but when I type in the dimensions for the layers, the whole canvas shrinks to 42.6mm x 41mm and resizes the images proportionally.  Not what I want.

I want each image to 42.6mm x 41mm so I can drag them into postion on a canvas that has *remained* at 290mm x 205mm after resizing the layers.

Thanks for any help,

Cheers,

.pd.

Have a look at Photoshop's Image Processor script: File > Scripts > Image Processor

I think I would select the canvas and than target all the image layers  align them to the top left, link them and transform all to the same size. Then reposition the image layers to your grid layout.
