I edit photos for use on website and print. I usually resize my images to 1800 x 1800 for website, and the images have always come out sharp and clear. Randomly this afternoon I resized these images and they come out terrible quality. I have no idea why they are doing this, as I hadn't changed any settings. I have attempted unchecking resample and also changing resample through all the options. My settings are currently RGB and 8bit. Restarted my computer and I also just restarted Photoshop since I saw there was an update, but it didn't help. Is there something else I need to check? I haven't had this issue before today.
The image looks fine to me; could you point out what the problem is in the 100% view?

When you say resizing, are you making them larger or smaller?

I'm making the images smaller.

That's weird. Downsizing should make them seem sharper. Are you going Image>Size> then entering the pixel numbers?

That's what I thought too, which is why I'm so confused. Yeah I am, so I normally adjust the canvas size to 1800 px but I also tried the image resize option too and both had the same result.

What is the dpi? Did you leave that number alone?

Yeah I leave it alone and its at 300.

You say you have tried all Resample methods? Nearest Neighbor might cause a slight degradation but I wouldn't rescribe the affect as 'terrible'.
Can you show us a full res section of an image as an example? Better still, before and after example.

Sorry if that's not what you're asking for!

When downsizing images you must turn on Resample option in Image Size dialogue. If you are experimenting with PPI or Resolution in Image Size it is irrelevant for web images, just ignore it, concentrate on Width and Height in Pixels.
Downsizing images should not result in blurry image or pixels. Does loss of quality happens with all images or only with some of them? What is used to preview result, at which viewing percent? In Photoshop press Ctrl + 1 then judge quality. Can you post a few samples or to capture short video.

It's been happening to all the photos I've edited since yesterday. I posted the 100% viewing screenshots in another reply on this thread. These are the settings I have.

Could you please post screenshots taken at View > 100% of the image before and after resampling with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Channels, Options Bar, …) visible?

Oh goodness, I suppose you're right... I must be really tired. Thank you for your help.
