Question

Rich tool tips

When I'm hovering over the tools, its giving me the 'how to' video for the magic wand tool, for every single tool. This is on a friend's machine who is learning photoshop. I know how to turn these tips off in preferences, however it would be useful for him to have the correct tips for each tool. This is on windows.

Hi

Just tested with Rich Tooltips enabled and the video changes for each tool I select on Photoshop CC 2020, what version is your friend using, you could try resetting PS preferences

Thanks Ged, I tried resetting the preferences, but no luck.

I've since found out he's not on the cloud, so I'm wondering if this is the issue. However he doesn't want to be on the cloud, so I can't test if this is the issue. When I open up photoshop on his machine, it correctly identifies the first tool I click on, and then after that point, it identifies all the other tools as that first tool.

The 'rich tooltips' are only added in the most recent Creative Cloud versions, so I think he must be in the cloud, unless he's using an illegal version (that can be a reason for wrong popups showing up and other software bugs ;)), or he's using an education version without cloud functions.
