Rulers are in the way..

Community Beginner ,

Er.. All of a sudden there are two new tulers on the right and bottom of my photoshop screen.. How do I get rid of these? They are amazingly in the way and unnescessary...  I understand Ctrl+R turns the rulers off and on but I DO use the top and left ruler.. that's all that is needed.  Is this a new feature? Can they be moved flush to the right and bottom of my work area..?  I could handle that.

First, try disabling GPU in the preferences (Performances tab). Any better?
If not, go to Preferences > Technology Previews... and check "Disable Native Canvas" - then restart Photoshop. Better?

Hmm not sure I'm seeing exactly the GPU unless it's the box that says Use Graphics Processor.. in which case I disabled it and there is no change, extra rulers still there..  Preferences > Technology Previews > Deactivate Native Canvas also did not take them away..

Hi @Damien23545600fy3w

This is a known issue. See this thread:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-bugs/p-ghost-rulers-appear-in-middle-of-image/idi...

Solutions have included Deactivating Native Canvas, upgrading, resetting preferences, and restarting.

Welp! I don't know which of the things I tried worked, but now they're gone.  Decided to go run some errands and when I got home, the rulers were just gone.  Some magic elixir of tinkering, deactivating, reactivating, many cuss words, and running a couple of errands did the trick.  Thank you all!! for the help and the link, I'm curious to read about the bugs.

If turning OFF GPU works, it's a GPU bug and you need to contact the manufacturer or find out if there's an updated driver for it. On the Mac, that's part of the OS update(s) so if this is the latest OS version, you may need to roll back a release.

I'm glad it's sorted for you now, Damien, and you're welcome for the link. The engineers are aware of this issue.

Holy heck, thank you so much! This worked perfectly the first time.

Preferences > Technology Previews... and check "Disable Native Canvas" - then restart Photoshop.

This has been annoying the crud out of me for months!
