Sorry should have mentioned this is Photoshop CC that I am asking about.  It seems to be different than the CS5 instructions.

Also all the same information is true, there are no differences between CS5 and CC in this regard.

When you turn on print options in Photoshop, like Crop Marks, these do not save to the file in anyway, they are simply added to the print. You can print to PDF (if you have a PDF printer installed, such as is added when you install Acrobat Pro or if you work on a Mac). The marks will be saved into the PDF file, but this will be a flattened version of the file as it is just the print information.
