Save As - Corrupt File - Needs force quit & restart Mac

Community Beginner ,

Everyday since the new update I'm experiencing this:

I'm working on my file then I hit Command+S to save and it goes until 99% and stops > I have to quit Photoshop and restart my NEW MacBook Pro (and because that doesn't turn off properly - so I have to force turn off) > then return to PS to find out that my file is corrupt and I lost all that time and work! Adobe you are so unreliable now! Please do somenthing URGENT!!!!!!

I don't want any tips on how I should bypass this as a quick fix. I want to be able to save the file how I was always able too! Command+S = SAVE.

Adobe = Disappointment

Adobe MAX = Boycott

Regardless of any Catalina issues, saving directly to an external volume has never been good practice. Save to an internal system disk, then move. This minimizes all risks.

If there's not enough space on the machine, it's time to upgrade the hardware anyway.

If you are on Catalina, there are permissions issues. Save to your local hard drive only.

A similar thing happened to me after the Mojave update, so I had to roll back to Sierra.

No problems after that.

I understand you are trying to help. But still not good enough from Apple and Adobe - they have been partner for decades. Me, an "average Joe" now have to change the process of my agency because Adobe couldn't sort out their updates with Apple. My MacBook Pro doesn't have enough internal storage so it's not acceptable that I can only save to my local hard drive - I resolved that issue before - getting Cloud and External Storage. Double handling my files whilst I'm busy working with my clients and partners it's not acceptable because I know "eventually" you will sort this issue ( but when?). I also have to meet my targets and I wish that I was only focus on creativity. So I'm still waiting for a better answer - more like: "We are working to resolve this issue and we'll send an software / os update as soon as possible".

Thanks again for help.

(And there goes another 10min that no one going to pay me (or refund me) to resolve an issue that I didn't have before.)

Cheers

Yes - I agree.

Many people must have had their businesses thrown for a loop if they relied on PS at all.

Unfortunately, the usual answer is to go with the latest OS, but in my case, that didn't work at all.

Tech rolled it back to Sierra, but I still have a long wait for TIFF previews.

This I have to live with.
