Hello Guys...
...I am scaling text and images in CC and have noticed that I have to press SHIFT in order to scale either.
I thought that the latest Photoshop CC lets me adjust both of these (in scale) by simply using the "corners"
and not need to hold down the shift key?
Could someone put me right on this, please?

Hi @phil180
Adobe gives us a choice. After you start the Transform, look in the options bar. There is a link icon inbetween Width and Height. If it's pressed, the controls are linked and will work together.
On a side note, it's a best practice not to scale text, but to change the typesize instead.

Thank you for your reply....
....I got onto Adobe, and it seems there was a bug in the system and they had to do a system reset!
Thanks Jane x

Hi @phil180
I'm glad it's fixed for you, but I'm curious — did you call Adobe after you checked the Link button and Preferences or before?

But it was 3 am and I didn't expect a reply from this platform.
Hi Phil,
That's what I suspected, because it's not a bug — it's a setting.
When Adobe first made this change, users who wanted to distort images became vocal, so Adobe added the option in Preferences > General to allow folks distort by default if they wanted to. Later Adobe made it easier by adding a Link button in the options bar for Transform so you could use that to toggle the behavior.
If it happens again, these are the two places to look.
