Script to merge one photo on top of hundreds of different photos

I am looking to automate a process to digitally frame my artwork with different digital frames. in other words, I have images that i want to show my customers what they look like with different frame choices. The frame is the template with an empty center and the image is aligned to go behind it to make a new image. I know how to do it manually in photohop or even in bridge or with photo merge,but if I want to do this for 600 images 4 frame choices , 3 sizes and 8 colors. that would be over 50,000 variants. this might take a couple of minutes to do manually

It would propbably also take a couple of minutes to provide a meaningful description of the process you intend to automate, screenshots/sketches might help illustrating file-, folder- and layer-structures of the source material and the intended resulting files and their locations …

1. jpeg of a frame , an actual photograph of a picture frame that I make with nothing in the center. 

2. jpeg of my artwork, a digital copy of my artwork aligned to the location of the opening of the frame.

3. process would merge the 2 images together digitally instead of me doing it with copy and paste. creating a 3rd image in a lower quality image for website publication.

Now imagine merging image number 1  with 600 images of artwork , in other words repeating 1,2,3 600 times using the same image number 1 with 600 different image number 2's. 

Now repeating the same process with a different image number 1 and the same 600 image number 2's. image number 1resultimage number 2

jpgs don’t support transparency. 

And you and I apparently have a different opinion about what constitutes a meaningful description. 

Where are the files located, did you already create the templates using Smart Objects, are all the content-images the same size, how are the color variants defined, what about the size variations, …?

It is very easy to fill and empty frame or replace the image in a frame. The process can be automated and batched.
