Hi, as the new version of Photoshop is released, It seems that I cannot select my layers through my canvas without selecting them in the layer tab. It seems to be a hindrance to the workflow the fact that you have to select every layer in the layer tab. Hoping that this will be fixed. Are you guys experiencing this also? I'm kind of annoyed by this. It slows me down.

Just check "auto select layer" in the options bar (with move tool active).

Have you bothered checking the Move Tool’s settings in the Options Bar? Specifically »Auto-select«?

cmd-alt-clicking should also be an alternative.

Can you elaborate on this? As far as I know, shortcuts can vary on windows and mac however if cmd is ctrl in windows the result is I will only duplicate the object not freely dragging it around the canvas without having to select it manually in the layers tab.

Thank you! It worked. I'm so glad ...I didn't notice that due to the update it has been turned off.
