setting a key command to enter the clone source angle text field in Photoshop

Explorer ,
Jul 21, 2023 Jul 21, 2023

Is there a way to asign any key command to open and highlight the clone source angle text entry field in Photoshop 24.6?  I love using the clone source angle in my work, and I find that the most time consuming part is using the pointing device to leave my sampling region and go click on the clone source angle text box when I need to align my source and destinations.

Is there a way to set up a key command or function key to select the clone source angle text box, so that I can just start using the arrow keys right away as soon as I want a different alignment, without having to go look and move my stylus away from my sampling project?

Hi @jeremyp1470049 ,

That is a tricky one, but a really interesting problem to solve - that would be a huge time saver. I can imagine too a use case for angle presets as well.

I'm going to talk to a dev friend and see if there's a way to access that field. Let you know if I find something!

@Unver31259241prw4 , are you a bot or was the text of your post created with some AI-text generation tool?

In the case of macOS, this can be achieved relatively easily by using an application such as Keyboard Maestro to automatically find and click an icon image near the target text field.

On Windows, you can use Power Automate Desktop or AutoHotkey.

Weird - so @sttk3 , Keyboard Maestro finds the clone source dialog's icon image, then uses coordinates to find the text field in relation to it? If so that's kinda genius! I've never played with it but will definitely have to check it out.
Thank you for sharing!

Yes, it is set to find the icon image and double-click 42px to the left from the center of that image.
