How can I make it so that when I just created a new file, for example by using File>Export>Quick Export as PNG, the new file shows up in Mac Recents in the Finder? This would save me so much time.

What are you trying to accomplish? When you do a quick export, I would suggest setting up a place where the file gets exported to. Once you select a place where your files are to be saved, it should (unless you change locations) save them in that place from now on. It is better to set up your own system of where you put your files rather than relying on the Recent files option on your Mac.

I make a lot of small images for video game development and when I export the images in PS I save them in various different folders. Right after I do that I'll open my development software to import that image. I then have to click through Finder and remember the specific folder where I saved image in, which is a nuisance because sometimes I'll forget the folder and I'll have to click through the folder hierarchies again.

It would be way quicker if the images would show up in the Recents section in Finder so I can find them immediately when I'm quickly creating images and then importing them for development.

Got it! Thanks! I am not sure why they are not showing up in your Recents through the finder, but have you thought about creating a folder for that days work and saving all your files into that folder so they are easily found? If they are assets for a specific game, do you add a code or a few charachters to the file name so you know which game you are creating for? It might be easier to save everything to one folder (for that day's work) to be able to find them, and then archive them to their respective project folders when you are done. I wish I had an answer to give you as to why they are not showing up, but it sounds like a computer issue and not a Photoshop issue.

Thanks for hte response,

Michelle

You should be able to setup a saved search in the Finder or Adobe Bridge based on date/time created.

I'm guessing that until the Finder does something with the files they will not appear in Recents.
