Simulate line drawing without releasing left mouse button

Hello. I'm attending a course in perspective and we use Photoshop as our digital tool. I know how to create my vanishing points, but it's very tedious to always have to draw a line from them, to wherever I want it to end, especially when they are very far away, and I want to be precise. My question is, how do I develop a script, which starts drawing a line from a hardcoded vanishing point and all the way to my current mouse cursor position but DOESN'T commit that line. I am trying to simulate only half of the line drawing process. Usually it consists of 1) LMB to select a start location 2) Release LMB to confirm the end location. I only want to simulate step 1). Is that even possible?

Thank you!

no need to script you just hold down the shift key as you move the mouse from one point to another.

Sorry, I guess I didn't describe the problem accurately. Yes, I know I can create line strokes by clicking at the line start and then shift+click to draw the line. Now imagine doing this with a 600dpi canvas. You have zoomed into a detail and you want to draw a line from a vanishing point which is 4 screens away, and I don't want to lose sight of the detail I'm working on. Also I want to maintain control over the line I'm about to stroke, because when doing perspective you don't always know where your line is gonna end. Often times you need it to cross some other line and continue on from there.

I would think the best way to do that then would be to attach 4 displays to your system and extend your desktop. Drag you Photoshop floating image window to span your four displays and step back. That is the only way all the areas involved will be visible at that zoom percentage.  Otherwise you will lose sight for all areas will not be in view.

Why is the in the Photoshop Scripting forum?

This is a terrible response and not sure why you'd even respond with something like this. Bad form, JJ.

If I understand what he is asking for is similar to the click + drag + hold tool in procreate to draw perfectly straight lines at any angle. I can't believe PS still doesn't have this option other than using the pen tool, unless I'm unaware.

There is also the low cost LNP  plug-in  it has a perspective tool and supports three point perspective.  There is  a free LNP trial I believe.
