Hi
We had some great ideas shown in our last 'Gone fishing' challenge. This time we start with an everday object - a simple match. What can you make with it?
The “rules”:
* Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc
* Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum "regulars".
* There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!
* The starter image is made available for you to use in this forum challenge only.
To download the image below at full size, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser).
When posting back your image – please use the blue reply button in this first post. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.
Have fun
Dave

Thank you very much, Rafael. Conceived straight away, it was frightfully long in the making, mostly delayed by adverse conditions, but also by my struggling to get it right by eye and by hand.

p.s, yes I know the A is missing because this was in fact an English ship on loan to Australia and we [well the Germans really] sank it... if we had actually built/ comissioned the thing then adding the A to get HMAS Sydney would be correct

A most striking way to go, Graham, very moving.
I looked for the HM(A)S Sydney on the actual ship, but (then realized) you are referring to the caption?

the trend to put names \ tags on a ship hull come along after WW2, the established reason she lost to the Kormoran was that the Gurman was disguised as a Dutch freighter so managed to get in close
this rendor is a 3D model in her war colours... tech a light cruiser because of her biplane for scouting

Ah, Thank you, Graham.
I believe the biplane was (also) a seaplane.
And the crucial question: how many of the crew survived?

None; all 645 perished.
