There was some discussion in a previous SFTW thread of creating some challenges relating to specific world or national days. It turns out that today, Friday 17 February, is National Cabbage Day in the US. Who could resist a challenge like that? So we have our cabbage patch starter image, what will you do with it?
The “rules”:
* Use the starter image as at least part of your own image entry.
* Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc
* Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum "regulars".
* There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!
* The starter image is made available for you to use in this forum challenge only. Sorry to emphasise this, but the image is not for use elsewhere.
To download the image below, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. I've made the background transparent to save you cutting it out. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser).
When posting back your image – please use the blue reply button in this first post. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.
Have fun.

Overall - I love it 🙂
Being pedantic, the reflection bothers me though. You shouldn't be able to see into the cabbage head from below.

I played around with some of the patterns in Capture to make what sort of looks like a placemat design. I'll call this "Shredded Cabbage."

Capture is something I often forget about, but is a very useful tool if users can find it!
Hint, bottom of the library panel click on the + sign then 'Extract from Image'. It really must be one of the most hidden features in Photoshop.

Yeah, it can be tricky to find. Users can also use Capture as an app on their phone (iOS or Android), save the content to a CC Library, and access whatever they captured from there.

Amybeth,
It is usually said that each weekend here lasts a fortnight, but this one is much longer, and worth the wait, also for the answer to the last question.
If she lands in the next one after her long flight, to make up for lost time, she can touch down in the green field with the white flowers and ask the makeup artist to pay her lip service, without making her look sheepish.

To decend gently into a green feild with white flowers.. that sounds lovely .. 🙂
