Thank you to all who took part in our previous driving road challenge.
Those that take part regularly will know that sometimes we start with a scene and sometimes an object. This week it is an old oil can, something that all mechanics working on machines and engines would have to hand. What can you make with it?
The “rules”:
To download the image, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right.
Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser). The background is transparent so that should save you some time masking.
When posting back your image — please use the blue reply button in this first post and use the 'Insert Photos' icon at the top of the reply box. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry, then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.
Have fun!
Dave

By @davescm
I asked him to please bring me the oil and vinegar for my salad, and he kindly did exactly as I requested.
I love the oil can with all of its rust and spills, Dave, and thanks for the transparency! 😊

I hope it's olive oil and not Castrol!

I hope so too Dave! If it's Castrol, then he might be trying to kill me! 😂

Dave, Jane, it could also be rapeseed oil, which can be used as food and as lubricant and as fuel, the latter for plant oil engines or modified diesel engines in vehicles (including tractors) and different kinds of machinery.
As far as I remember, Citroen use(d) olive oil for lubrication and for their DS self levelling and drive height.

It could be anything, Jacob, as this is SFTW. 🙂 But it's not a food-grade can that the mechanic brought.

Does he use that to light the forge, Jacob?

Beautiful Leslie. So full of mood.
Seeing as we are setting the images to music, I straight away thought of Beds are Burning. Which resulted in an unrelated revolation. Surely the squeeky sould effect at the start of that song is sampled from the wind vane in the opening scen from Once Upon a Time in the West? It's not pitch perfect, but it is too close to be anything else.

We've all burnt a bit of that, Leslie. A nice idea and very nicely executed.
Incidentally, the 1200 px limit is not critical in this forum which just shows previews in the threads, unlike the old forum which ground to a halt with large numbers of big images in a thread.

Didier,
It is almost the same in English: elbow grease.

Do you think that can might get the feeling that people are against him - or is he just paranoid 🙂
