Thanks to all who took part in our last 'Pot Luck' challenge.
This week I thought we might start with an industrial scene. This was the last blast furnace in Redcar, but unfortunately it was closed down in 2015 and has now been demolished. Sadly, it marked then end of the use of blast furnaces, to make steel by the river Tees, which had gone for 140 years.
What can you make with this industrial scene?
The “rules”:
To download the starter image, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser).

MechaGodzilla (classic armor) he's also been known in US markets as "Cosmic Monter" or "Bionic Monster" depending on translations.

Thank you for sharing, Kevin. Often I only know of the original films.

Nice work @Kevin Stohlmeyer
Every now and then, clicking the upvotes in the Adobe form doesn't work for me. That's happening again now. Will see if it works later to give you my vote/like 🙂

Thanks for being first in with an image this week, Kevin. I particularly like the inclusion of people in the foreground which helps bring scale and a sense of shoch and horror to the scene. Nicely done.

I remember seeing a double-feature of Godzilla with my Mom and my brother at a local theater back in the late 70's. ("Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla" and "Godzilla vs. Megalon".) Good times.

The Godzilla film I saw was part of a midnight triple feature: Bambi Meets Godzilla. I just found it on YouTube.

Kevin,
Am I right or misremembering that the folk in the foreground were there in the original Gojira film?
As Dave said, those in the foreground enhance the scene, especially the two closest who actually enhance reality by (the impossibility of) looking at Gojira behind them and at the same time showing us their faces and expressions; more like an old painting or a theatrical performance.

Cool image. I'd be happy to see the giant whale, not the bee 🙂

Whale Rider is actually a pretty cool movie. It's very NZ, and about a young Māori girl.

@Henrik Heigl Another launchpad this week. I always thought they produced steel there, but now I know the true purpose 🙂
@Jill_C Unfortunately, given that the works have now been demolished, it may have been the unicorns that made it to the top first!
