Something for the weekend - Part 94 - Fasten your seat belts!

Hi

Thanks for all the entries in last weekend's wheel challenge.

This weekend, I thought we should get away from it all. So I've modelled for you an aircraft cabin (economy of course, I'm not made of money here). It is modelled in Blender 3D and textured in Adobe Substance Painter.

What will you do with this scene? Will you create the start of a happy holiday, or something else entirely ?

The “rules”:

  • Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc.
  • Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert.
  • There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!

To download the image below in jpeg format at 3000 x 2000 pixels and with an embedded ICC colour profile (sRGB), hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser)

Have fun!

This is exquisite, Dave!

Does "SFTW AIR" run non-stop flights to Adobe MAX in October?

Hi Jane,

Thanks. Yes a virtual flight to a virtual Adobe Max event 🙂

Of course, to get it to fly I might have to add wings ....

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires a Preflight Assessment to ensure an airplane meets regulatory airworthy standards and is safe mechanical condition prior to flight. Since your plane is virtual, Dave, I used the Preflight panel in Adobe InDesign. It appears there are several issues you'll need to resolve before takeoff, and yes, until you add those wings your plane is grounded!

I have a plan Jane. Each person in those cabin seats will be given an oar with a feather on the other end. Then we just need a person at the front beating a drum, like an airborne version of Ben Hur........

Dear sir or madam,

thank you for taking the time to point out your concerns. Adobe is aware of these bugs now and will get around to looking at them one of these years

Look closer Trevor, there are windows :-).  You can just see the top of them in the render, but they let a lot of light in for the scene.

Graham and Dave,

I am afraid Ted never saw the door coming (up from behind).

Maybe owing to unlateralized vision, ever since the very first glance, my eyes are drawn to the (speed striping/motion blur of the) rather fast rolling carpet (clearly visible all the way across but especially undisturbed and therefore conspicuous) in the middle, forming a very efficient/relentless aisle whence the passengers need to throw themselves into the (hopefully right) seats.

Here is the contraption setup for the Ted shoot (I only thought of taking the photo after the door was smashed):
