All:

Had PSCS4 and Acrobat 9 on a ol' MBP1,1 (CoreDuo) running Snow Leopard which I inheritted from my brother-in-law. Recently inheritted a MBP6,2 (i5) from my mother-in-law running High Sierra so tried to install PSCS4 on the i5. Problems with serial numbers so I connected with Adobe through chat. As I am retired and waiting for SSDI to kick in so buying another Mac and/or upgrading Adobe apps is not an option just yet. Adobe took pitty on me and gave me new serial numbers and links for PSCS6 and AcrobatDC. Had to go around the, probably, 32-bit install shield and get directly into the pkg to the app installer to do the installed, but they are installed on High Sierra and working. AcrobatDC is up-to-date. PSCS6 however had four updates needed. Another chat with Adobe gets me the Adobe ftp  ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/ server and I was able to get most of what I needed downloaded and installed. All I need now is the Adobe CSXS InfrastructureCS6 dmg. It gets an error U43M1D207 and is unable to download. And that is the rub. Anyone have a copy or a link that still works so that I may download it?

The problem I am getting is the Mini Bridge is empty. In Windows the fix is a Registry patch, but I am running macOS High Sierra. Ventura is not usable on this MBP; IMHO. Full Bridge is running, but is new to me since it came in at CS5 and I have been using CS3. The problem is activating Mini Bridge brings up and empty grey panel. In one the log files it looked like a reference to the CSXS and so I figure that the update is what I need. Unless someone knows better.

Please let me know of your experiences and if someone has the CSXS_Infrastructure_CS6.dmg or a good link to get the update.

Thanks,

This is the "fix" for the blank  CS6 Mini Bridge panel:

(appears the orginal website has been taken down, so got this from the WAYBACK MACHINE)

(It does work as i have used it on several windows and mac systems)

(Adobe never provided an official fix so use this at your own risk)

Fix for empty Mini Bridge

Does your Photoshop display empty Mini Bridge panel? Here’s a simple solution to fix the bug. Below the instructions, you may find my comment on this issue.

Here’s the solution applicable to problems with MiniBridge, Kuler, GuideGuide and many other plugins for Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and others.

Windows

— open registry editor (press Win+R, type in regedit and press OK)
— navigate in the tree structure, to entry depending on your CS version

Version Registry path
CS6 HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software / Adobe / CSXS.3
CS5.5 HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software / Adobe / CSXS2.5Preferences*
CS5 HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software / Adobe / CSXS2Preferences
CS4 HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software / Adobe / CSXS1Preferences*

— right-click on the right pane and insert a String value
— name it PlayerDebugMode and set its value to 1
— restart Photoshop/any application with Mini Bridge

* if you are using a version other than CS6 or CS5 and you cannot find proper registry entries, please comment, we will figure it out

MacOS

— run terminal (press Command+Space, type terminal, press enter)
— copy the line below changing the # according to your CS version
(use 3 for CS6, 2.5 for CS5.5 or 2 for CS5)
defaults write com.adobe.CSXS.# PlayerDebugMode 1
— press Return on your keyboard

For example, if you are using CS6, it should look like this:
defaults write com.adobe.CSXS.3 PlayerDebugMode 1

Since 31.10 all the Photoshop CS6 instances I have been working with – at my home and at my workplace – have sadly stopped properly opening the content panel for Mini Bridge. I have tried most of the suggestions posted over the internet but none seemed to work. But finally, a good fellow, , posted the solution  on the Adobe forums. Also, as Joschi this fix works for other plug-ins or addons for Adobe applications. Thanks to Mark H., the post has been updated with proper registry paths for CS5 version, my regards!

It is only temporary as it enables debugging option for extensions – which is not recommended for a regular user, but let us hope that Adobe will patch the issue.

Hi GregS,

I am also on High Sierra with CS6. (Unfortunately, while a download of CS6 is linked to my Adobe account, the corresponding updates/patches are not, and don't appear to be searchable by the previously-recommended means, either.)

Did you ever find a solution?

BTW, as for accessing updates I clicked the FTP link you posted, at which point I receive a promt for Guest or Registered User password in Safari.  I couldn't get either one to work. Does this require Adobe to give you a login/Guest privileges? Should I be using an FTP client vs. Safari?

My understanding for CSXS Infrastructure CS6 is that it corrected a glitch whereby certain characters in Adobe ID usernames were rejected (failed login). It may not be a critical update for most users or for the "empty bridge" issue.

Another one I can't find is "Adobe Media Encoder CS6 6.0.2 Update". Over at Archive.org a user by the name of SoCalBryan has put together a list of manual updates for pre-CC apps (Windows and Mac), but the Adobe CSXS InfrastructureCS6 listed there (for Mac) doesn't seem to bring up the correct file.

If in fact these manual updates are still available on Adobe's FTP servers that would be newsworthy in 2023 as many users have been told that all such servers are "retired". Since you appear to have received more help than most for these end-of-life, pre-CC products, I hope you can follow up with a quick note on how others can make use of the FTP (would be helpful given that the other issue on these forums is that update links are often aimed at enterprise users).

NewsView,

If from within Photoshop CS6 you go to Help Updates, do any of the updates install?

Okay, I tried again from the "Help Updates" menu in Photoshop. It triggers the Adobe Update Manager and what would appear to be a successful "downloading", only to report the "installation failed".

Upon use of the direct download link for the infrastructure update, I encountered a "Adobe Updater may be damaged" error. (Inability to successfully use Adobe Application Manager v7 is also why I inquired about accessing files on the FTP server from the OP since to this point the only other repository I have found to manually update CS6 is compiled by a third party on the Archive.org site.)

Perhaps I should be asking if Adobe Application Manager 7 (pre-CC updater) should work for this purpose? (The problem arose a few months ago when installed a new SSD and attempted to make a fresh CS6 install. I came to the conclusion — perhap incorrectly — that Adobe Update Manager isn't really functional anymore for pre-CC products.)

If Adobe Application Manager 7 (or earlier) should still work — or CS6 patch/update files are still accessible direct from Adobe for manual installation — it would be welcome news!

About the CSXS Infrastructure 3.0.1 Updates

Recently we posted updates for various CS6 applications called CSXS Infrastructure updates via the Adobe Application Manager. Unfortunately, there was no text describing what the update was for or indeed what CSXS was. Whilst we work to add in the descriptive text to the update, I wanted to provide some brief information for those that were curious as to what the update was about.

CSXS is the platform that delivers extensibility within Creative Suite products. This update to the CSXS Infrastructure, resolves an issue where certain characters contained in a users Adobe ID caused a login failure.

It’s only a very small update but an important one, so please apply the update if you are a CS6 user, now that you know what it’s for.

Good Morning Jeff,

That did it. Mini Bridge is working. Launches Bridge (if not running) and shows folders et al just as it should. CSXS Infrastructure CS6 installed like a native High Sierra app; i.e. I didn't have to show pkg contents and go around the install shield like a couple of the updates. Photoshop CS6 looks to be running just as it should on the MBP6,2. I thank you very much for your assistance.

God bless,

GregS <><
