Hi, is there a way to change the space bar key from the hand tool to zoom tool indefinitely?

No, the Spacebar is "hard wired" to the hand tool and cannot be reassigned.

Is hand/finger placement an issue by using Z? If you're using a graphics tablet you could program one of its buttons to zoom. A device like Logitech's G13 can also be programmed at will (but I think it's been discontinued).
