Surface Pro 7 pen input in Photoshop

Ever since I got my Surface Pro 7 a year ago I haven't been able to use my Surface Pen as input. The stylus works perfectly in every other software I use, like Illustrator or Fresco, but in Photoshop, this happens:
1. The cursor is displayed correctly
2. I can use the UI (selecting tools etc)

3. I can't use any of the tools on the canvas with the stylus (works with mouse)

4. Touch input works for zoom, scroll but not for using tools

5. Using touch to paint works with creating dots, but dragging the finger over the screen invariably creates a uniformly thick line up towards a vantage point somewhere above and left of the canvas.

I tried all suggested drivers on and off, reinstalled Photoshop. One person (subject line "Can't use pen on Photoshop (Surface Pro 7)") seems to have had a similar experience reported in January but the thread was never answered. I attached a file showing what the touch input does, as stated above. The pen does nothing.

Since downloading Photoshop 2022 the issue seems to be solved entirely! Finally, I can use the pen again!

Hi Micke_be,

have you checked if there are any updates available for your OS and pen? Have you tried to disable Windows Ink?

Hi Micke_be,

thank you for your answer. While deactivating Windows Ink you find the same problem?

Yes. Problem remains the same. Only in Photoshop and only while using tools with the pen on the canvas.
