Question

Text changes color after selecting it - PS 23.2.1

This is confounding. I simply select text with the Text tool and it changes color. Have tried it on two different Macs, and the text changes to the same colors on both of them. I know I can simply change it back to white, but it's just weird behavior.

Who created the file when?

The colors the Type Layers indicate in the Options Bar and assume on editing – do they correspond to CI-colors used in the design in general?

I suspect that the issue is with the file, but if the volume makes manual correction difficult you could try general trouble-shooting for the application itself, maybe starting with restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:

It is a stock design template. Date stamp is May 18 2022

What are CI-colors?

When I click each Type Layer, the color in the Options Bar changes, even though all of the text is white:

I do think this is an issue with the file itself, as it has been tested on two different computers with two different copies of Photoshop.

»CI« stands for »Corporate Identidy«, which often includes a number of colors that are to be used in designs for a company or line of products.

You could post a Bug Report and, with some luck, an Adobe employee might check out the file, but while this might be helpful in the big picture, it likely would not help you now.

A crude work-around to keep the texts white might be to apply the Layer Style Color Overlay to the Layers.
