Trying to resize an image

I'm trying to resize an image to fit for some social media cover photos.

Every time I change the size of the photo and then upload it to a social media's cover photo section I get the original photo back.

I can't crop this photo I just need to change the size/resolution of it.

I just created a new image to solve the issue from the ground up. Unfortunately, I believe social media sites reformat any photo you upload onto the website.

The only thing that matters is the pixels dimensions. The ppi is irrelevant for on screen display.

I've already resized the image a number of times.

It's when I upload it to any social media's cover photo section where the problem arises.

It gives me the original photo which is too zoomed in.

Reduce pixel dimensions. That's all you need to do. Something around 1000 - 1200 pixels will usually work.

Don't pay any attention to the ppi number, it's irrelevant for this!

What social media platform are you uploading to? A lot of social media platforms resize automatically to fit a particular size. This is probably the issue you are having.
