Unable to create new file or open Photoshop 2.2.1.1+ workaround fix

After looking around on the web looking for a solution I was unable to find a solid fix, until I just started to fiddle with some settings. I tried using 2.2.1.1+ and all of those versions have the same issue. After adjusting some of the settings I was FINALLY able to get Photoshop to work.

Under:

Edit/Preferences/General tic Use legacy "New Document" Interface.

Under:

Edit/Preferences/Performance untic Use graphics processor.

After doing those two things my issue was solved. I don't actually know if it will use my GPU or not now but time will tell.

I'm currently using a 1080ti FTW3, maybe the card is to old? :/?

So I've solved the issue with why people are getting this error message. Adobe from what I can tell have dropped support for the 1000 series graphics card. Roughly 36% of people using a pc with a graphics card use a 1000 series card, that doesn't include anything lower either. Anything above 22.0 doesn't work, the only fix if you still want to use your graphics card is by using version 21.2.6 The only other option as I mentioned before is turning off your graphics card in the performance tab if you want to use anything newer than 21.2.6.

How Adobe is to lazy to support a card that's only barely 4 years old is beyond me. Not everyone has the ability to buy a new graphics card every new generation. I would highly recommend Adobe to start using the Steam Hardware charts at the very least when they decide that dropping support for a graphics card is a good idea or not.

Perhaps Adobe does not want the keep bloating Photoshop with code to support old software and hardware.  As it is Photoshop has more than its share of performance issues.  Adobe clearly stated that they change GPU requirements for Photoshop 2021 that old cards have limited use.   Adobe seems to be maintaining both PS 2020 and 2021  these days. That also a change historically Adobe only support the current version of their products.  Many of us will switch to PS 2020 when there are issues in PS 2021 version 22 of photoshop.

IMO all version of PS 2021 have serious issues.  Use PS 2020 version 21.2.6.  There are few new things in 2021 like sky replacement, refine hair and new filters and beta filters. Some  features have been improved help changed to discovery panel. Some features have been messes up like the line tool.  Other broken like 3D UV.  And the seems to be some intermittent issues the causes PS 2021 performance to go to pot till you restart PS 2021.  Wow now I can use a new traiangle to make triangles or I can use the polygon tool to make trianfles I have a new choice to make.

Well I do plan on using the older version, since I don't have a choice, but it is what it is. I'm more annoyed on the fact that there's no real mention of it when you install the program, if anything the program should have been smart enough to mention that 22 version wouldn't be complatible with the your 1000 series card. Just wasting their consumers time and just creating headaches for people when it isn't needed.

However roughly 15% of people use a 2000 series card and some where in the 3% range on the 3000 series. I don't see the point in supporting 3% of users on the 3000 series where as your getting close to 40% of users are on the 1000 series. If anything the "bloating" would be would be the code being written for the 3000 series.

If the old GPU are not capable of what is requrement for features like neural filters Photoshop Performance will be awaful.  If your machine does not meet requitements you should not use Photoshop 2021.  While it looks like my Nvidia Quadro K2200 is somewaht supported in 2021. It look like it does not have the support required for Adobe neural filters.  It takes 30 seconds to nove an image's eyes. Ther was no GOT activity all CPU and it was sloe. How lounr would a whold facelift take.

Photoshop 2021 and Photoshop CS6 may not have new featurese  at least  those version of Photoshop perform well one machines that neet their requirements. I'm not goint to sring for a $500+ Displaye adappter to be able to use neural filters.  I do not need them.
