Hi, I am unable to move local folders to another location in windows 10 build 19044.1503 without closing Photoshop CC Adobe Photoshop Version: 23.1.1 20220106.r.202 060a6d1 x64 first. Anyone else have the same problem? In this instance moving a folder containing image files on the desktop in File Explorer to another folder causes the issue. I guess Photoshop is still using the image files even though all images are closed in Photoshop.
Hi Johannes,
Thanks for reaching out! We are sorry for the trouble with Photoshop. We are here to help!
Could you please confirm the type of images you are working with? Are these images RAW or JPEG or Layered documents like PSD or TIFF? What is your exact workflow in Photoshop, do you save images as PSD or output them as soon as you finish working on Photoshop? Does this happen only with documents which are on desktop or do all files behave like this?
Please try disabling the Backgroun

Please try disabling the Background Save feature in Photoshop as a test and let us know if that helps
Please let us know if this helps!

Same problem here. This has never been fixed. It truly breaks the workflow to have to CLOSE/EXIT Photoshop just so I can move a folder or file that I edited and closed. Somethings is not right here. Have been having to do this for months on end.

I've had this problem for years and years on all versions of Photoshop and Windows. I always have to restart my computer to finally make Photoshop "let go" of it's stranglehold on the file system, then I can move, rename, etc.
